Alice Harrmon Obituary

HARMON - Alice B., 83 passed peacefully on February 5, 2021. Deeply loved by her husband of 64 years, Ronald Harmon. Two birds in a nest we called them. Childhood sweethearts they built a family together in Farmingdale. Alice cared deeply for her community. You will find her spirit in all who attended the Farmingdale Methodist Nursery School she founded in the 1970s along with the many trees and flowers in the Village she planted with the Beautification committee. Adored by her children Beth Woods, Lori Halperin & Mike Timko, Ron and Jen Harmon. Cherished Gram of Meghan & Nelson Machado, Joseph & Juli Woods, Rachel Halperin & Dan Subers, Julia Harmon, Luke Harmon. Thrilled great grandmother of Bernard Woods. She instilled in her family a love for education, gardening, travel, kindness, swimming, flowers, fireplaces, friends, champagne, dogs, recycling, empathy, literature, maple walnut ice cream, faith, sunny days, laughter, good shoes, & sunrises. Visitation will be Friday, February 12 from 3pm-7pm at McCourt & Trudden Funeral home in Farmingdale. A memorial will be held in the Spring. If you wish to honor Alice's memory, donate a book to your local library, plant a tree or daffodils in your yard, or donate to a cause that respects and cares for our lands & waters. Alice was amazing, a lot of love, wisdom & kindness in a petite package. She will be loved & missed by her family and many friends.
