Bryan O'donnell Obituary

O'DONNELL - Bryan, Naples, FL, formerly of Oakdale, NY. Bryan P. O'Donnell, born to William B. O'Donnell and Mary Worst, passed away suddenly, leaving behind a legacy of love and service. As a young man, Bryan proudly served as a U.S. Marine, and later dedicated 35 years of his life to the Suffolk County Police Department. He lived a life of integrity, strength, and deep commitment to his country, community and family. Bryan's greatest joy was the love of his life, Carolyn, his devoted wife of 57 years. Together, they shared a bond that was unbreakable and filled with decades of cherished memories. His passing, though sudden, was with Carolyn at his side, a testament to the enduring love they shared. He was predeceased by his brother, William B. O'Donnell; and is survived by his brother, John R. O'Donnell. Bryan's love and pride extended to his three children and their wives, Bryan (Georgi), Christopher (Jennifer), and Keith (Natalie), as well as his five beloved grandchildren, Landon (Bryan), Brady and Aidan (Christopher), Ryan Novara, and Sophia (Keith). He was affectionately called "Pops" by his grandchildren, a name that he loved. He held his family close to his heart, always offering a steady hand, a kind word, and an unwavering presence in their lives. Friends and relatives will gather on Sunday, December 29, from 2pm to 4:30pm and 7pm to 9:30pm at Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Monday, December 30, at St. John Nepomucene in Bohemia, and interment will follow at the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I´ll miss my buddy, my Elvis fan. We were just getting to know you better. You always had a smile and a clever quip. Joe and I will miss you.

Dearest Carolyn. We were shocked to hear of the passing of Bryan. He always had a smile on his face, and his personality was so humorous, we felt an immediate bond with him. I am so sorry that you were going through this. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most trying time in your life. Love, Tom and Jeannette Lynch
