Charlie was one of my closest friends from the day I went on the street at the Second precinct in 1965. In the last few years he would spend some time with me & my wife in NC before attending a reunion in SC.I considered him family and he will always be in my thoughts.

Charlie was a Teddy Bear. He will be joining Jack O'Brien, Bill Zirk and the Bopper for the last turnout.

My Dad Bill Zirk who passed away last October was great friends with Charlie. Every Tuesdays and Thursdays they were playing poker together. When my Dad got sick, Charlie always went to visit him. My father always spoke very highly of him, I am sure they are playing poker right now. May all your memories comfort you at this difficult time.

I just wrote to a friend, "Talk about an old school cop. I don't remember ever seeing him drive a PD.....a scooter, yes, but never even filling in for OT did he drive a post car."
Charlie was a good and decent man - he will be missed.

Charlie was a great guy to work with and to know him. I was his Sgt. in the precinct and knew him as a great cop.
