Charles WARD Obituary

WARD - Charles Henry on June 17, 2013 in his 90th year in Sarasota, Fl - formerly of Staten Island and longtime resident of Huntington, NY. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was a graduate of Fordham University and US Navy Veteran. Retired owner of Murphy Ward Insurance and Ward & Ward Insurance of Huntington Village NY. Served as a Catholic Mass Lector in his early years, and Eucharistic Minister at St Martha's RC Church Sarasota in retirement as well as Meals on Wheels Sarasota. Passionate golfer and golf enthusiast. Beloved husband and best friend to Gloria, devoted and loving father to Chuck (Barbara), Alison and Joseph (Christina), dear step-father to Donald (Elaine), Pam, and Teresa (Kevin). Cherished grandfather "Pop" to Kelly, Nicolette, Angela, Laura, Mark, Tessa, Hanna, and Danny. Predeceased by dear grandchildren Vincent, Michael, and Jenna. Great-grandfather to Mason and Elle. Loving brother of Philip of Staten Island and beloved ucle of Kathy and Philip Jr. Charlie, Dad, Pop, will be deeply missed, but never forgotten for his love, warmth and sense of humor. Please join us in a celebration of his life at a Funeral Mass on Saturday July 27, 2013 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Mercy RC Church, 500 South Oyster Bay Road, Hicksville.
