Debra Shapira Obituary

Shapira - Debra Green, born on September 30, 1961, in Brooklyn, NY, passed away on June 6, 2024, after a year-long battle with Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer. Debra was a loving and caring individual who always put others before herself. She embraced every challenge with grace and lived each moment to its fullest. Her generous spirit and selflessness touched the lives of all who knew her. She dedicated over 20 years of her professional life to working as a Senior Paralegal at Schwartz Fang & Keating, where she was known for her diligence, professionalism, and dedication to her work. Her clients deeply appreciated her efforts and consistently valued her exceptional commitment and contributions.

Debra is survived by her father, Irwin Green; her son, Holden Shapira; and daughter-in-law, Rachel Shapira; her sister, Lori Murciano; and brother-in-law, Ralph Murciano; her brothers, Michael Green and Steven Green; along with her sister-in-law, Carolyn Green; her fiancé, Stuart Shapiro; and Stuart's two sons, Josh and Justin Shapiro. She was predeceased by her mother, Nona Green. Debra spent her formative years in Brooklyn and Seaford, NY, graduating from Seaford High School in 1979. She later attended the University of Albany, graduating in 1983. She spent most of her adult life in Merrick, NY. To honor Debra's memory, the family requests that donations be made to ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association. Debra will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Services Private.
