Dion Arroyo Memoriam

DION LAWRENCE ARROYO
3/3/1983 - 9/11/2003
It's been two years since my hero
left and yet it seems like yesterday
when I got the call. I remember
every word, every detail. I thought
it was a lie. I wanted it to be a lie.
I feel like I haven't cried enough.
The week before was the last time
I hugged him and told him I loved him. I never got to say goodbye.
There's so much I need to tell him,
yet so much he already knows.
All the new video games, music and
new clothes. Things he'll never be
able to have again but things I still
buy him just because I know he
would've liked them. It's hard to
walk around the mall and see these things knowing he's not there to
see them. It's hard to celebrate the
birthdays and holidays, knowing he
won't be there to celebrate with
me. All our old traditions never the
same again. My little brother.
My hero. He taught me so much
when he was still here and he's
still teaching me. I've become
stronger and wiser because of him.
I know that he is still here with me.
He's there when I look up at the stars, when I drive to work, still
protecting me as he always did,
as he always will. These two years
since he's been gone, have passed
by so fast and still every thought,
every memory I have, are of him.
I'll never stop thinking of him.
He'll always be my hero.
It's just not fair.
I never got to say goodbye.

Not a day goes by where I'm not thinking about my dear friend Dion, he was such a great friend and I am so glad I had the chance to know him thanks to St. Joes. His spirit would light up a room and when Dion was around, you know you couldn't help but smile, because he always knew how to make you laugh and enjoy life. I miss you Dion and you are always in my heart. Rest in Peace
