Eleanore Kathryn Mills Terreson

TERRESON - Eleanore Kathryn Mills, died Thursday, December 27, 2007 in Richmond, Virginia at the age of 65 after complications arising from pneumonia and other infections. She is survived by her husband of thirty-six years, Arthur "Terry" Eugene Terreson, Jr. Preceding her in death are her parents, Ruth Kemble and Otis Farrand Mills of Long Island, New York. After graduating from Union Junior College, New Paltz State Teachers College and CW Post University with a Masters in teaching, Eleanore spent the next 33 years guiding the minds of elementary school age children. In addition to this rewarding career, her concerns and vested interests for the rights, care and respect of living beings everywhere was demonstrated in her contributions to a variety of causes. Among the organizations where she was a member: Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, Lovingston SPCA, Feed the Children, Wildlife Foundation, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Jane Goodall Foundation, Make A Wish, North Shore Animal League, Nature Conservancy, American Cancer Society, Ocean Conservancy, Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, Audubon and Operation Smile. Her favorite hobbies carried her to traveling across covered bridges and riding unique carousels. Funeral services will be held at Hill and Wood Funeral Home on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at 4PM with Donald and Patricia Lansky officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. Mrs. Terreson will be interred on Wednesday January 2 at the Rahway Union County Cemetery in Rahway, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation in Eleanore's name be made to the Lovingston SPCA or any charity listed above.
