Ernest Schmitt

Schmitt - Ernest, 92, of Bellport Village passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. Served honorably as a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War. Proudly retired from the Brookhaven National Laboratory as electronic technician and loved playing softball in the BNL leagues. Beloved husband of the late Charlette Schmitt. Loving father of Elizabeth C. Bisnett (James) and Philip R. Schmitt (Karen). Cherished grandfather of Jenna Brown (Robert) and great-grandfather of Lorna Mae Brown. Visitation Sunday, November 23, from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Robertaccio Funeral Home, Inc. in Patchogue. Religious service 8pm. Cremation will be held privately.
