Gail Malloy-Brown Obituary

Malloy-Brown - Gail B., RN, PhD, of Rockville Centre, NY, passed away November 29, 2025, 9 days before her 93rd birthday. Dr. Malloy obtained her undergraduate nursing degree in 1956 from Cornell University/New York Hospital School of Nursing and her MA in 1960 and her PhD in 1975 from New York University. She started her career working as a staff nurse at New York Hospital and then as a public health nurse, before embarking on a long, distinguished academic career. Dr. Malloy taught public health nursing at Rutgers University and New York University. From 1972 until her retirement in 1997 she was a member of the faculty of Adelphi University, School of Nursing, where she held senior leadership positions in the Masters and Doctoral Programs. After obtaining post-graduate certificates in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, she maintained an active practice as a therapist for over thirty years, until shortly before her passing. Dr. Malloy was an aficionado of the opera and, later in life, travelled the world with her beloved late husband, Richard H. Brown, Jr., spending time with their children and grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Stephen Berkson; children, Linda Malloy-Buonanno, Christopher Malloy and Catherine Malloy; and grandchildren, Daniel Buonanno, Penny Malloy and Abby Malloy; as well as her extended family, the children of Richard Brown, Richard Brown, III, Robert Brown, Alison Bell and Kathleen Erickson, and his 12 grandchildren.

Yesterday

We are deeply saddened to learn of Gail´s passing, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family during this difficult time.

Gail was one of our most beloved clients, having worked with our firm since 1983 when she opened her first investment account. Over the years, she became so much more than a client-she was a remarkable woman whose wit, intellect, and unique personality made every interaction special. We will forever cherish the moments we spent with her and the many meaningful conversations we shared.

It was truly a privilege to be part of her life for so many years. Her memory will remain with us always, and she will be dearly missed.

With deepest sympathies,
Miki & Sandy (Halliday Financial)
