George Efthimiou

EFTHIMIOU - George, 92, longtime Garden City, NY resident passed away peacefully Jan.10, 2021. He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Carol; devoted children Alexis Probasco (Scott), Thomas Efthimiou (Elizabeth) and Greg Efthimiou (Mary); eight grandchildren; and adoring brother Rev. Milton Efthimiou. Son of Rev. Basil and Mrs. Helen Efthimiou. Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn graduate. Earned MBA from Harvard Business School in 1952. Owned/served as president of GMG Systems, which he ran with son Tom. Pianist in Village Music Makers swing orchestra for last 44 years. Private funeral service held Jan. 13. Family welcomes donations to StJude.org in George's memory.

My Dear Sweet Carol, I am so sad to hear that George died. I really thought that he would live forever because he was such a great man! I always loved listening to his magical piano music. He never needed a band to back him up because his piano playing was just fabulous !! Love and prayers to you and your family.
