LANG - George M., III, lifetime resident of Amityville, NY suddenly in the line of duty September 23, 2025. George was a 58 year member of the Amityville Fire Dept., serving as Chief from 1986-1988 and was a current instructor at the Suffolk County Fire Academy. Beloved husband of 51 years to Anne. Loving father of George M., IV (Anne) and Jillian Rein (William T.). Cherished grandfather of Ian Berry (Gabrielle), Kellen Lang and Teigan Lang. Adored great-grandfather of Eliana Berry. Dear brother of Robert Lang, Cynthia Johnson (Donald) and Claudia Neville (Michael). George is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. Reposing Friday, 2-4:30 and 7-9:30PM at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 67 Broadway (RT. 110), Amityville. Amityville Fire Department services 8:00PM. Funeral Mass Saturday, 9:30AM St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, Amityville. Cremation will be private. As an alternative to flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to AFD Cares, PO Box 725, Amityville, NY 11701.
