Gustave Rothmaler

ROTHMALER - GustaveA. of Wantagh on January 19, 2021 at age 95. Born of immigrants Gustav JW Rothmaler and Frida (nee Goeckeler). Beloved husband of Eunice for 65 years. Devoted father to Constance Haller (Barry), Stephen (Constance), Catherine Mousch, Gustave V., Andrew, and Astrid Smith (Clifford). Loving grandfather to Jenny Mulliken (Darin), Darren Pittman (Alice), Lillian Rothmaler (Pete), Krista Rothmaler, Rebecca Rothmaler (Miko), David H. Seiger (Ariana), Michael Seiger (Kristen), Dylan Mousch, Gustave C. Rothmaler, Bryan Rothmaler and Bethany Rothmaler. Adoring grandfather to 11 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother Eric. After service in the Philippines during WWII, he graduated from Cooper Union with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked for NYS in various road construction projects and then a career with American Electric Power in Steam Generation and retired early when the company left NY. He had a second career selling jewelry at JC Penny in Massapequa. Gus was a found-ing member of Calvary Lutheran Church of East Meadow and was a long-time choir member and church elder. Gustave was a proud member of the Comanche Raiders Marching Band who marched for many fire depts. in parades all over LI. Also survived by many loving family and friends.
