James Shuey Obituary

Shuey - James Stephen, passed peacefully surrounded by family on October 7, 2024. After weeks of struggling with complications from a bone marrow transplant needed to treat a rare genetic bone disease, James passed gently into the arms of Jesus. During his five short months here on earth he touched many lives and was deeply loved by family and friends. James enjoyed being sung to, playing with his soft toys, and being held by his parents, relatives, and friends. He was the beloved son of Karl and Stephanie Shuey; dear maternal grandson of Lori Scrobe and the late Stephen Scrobe; paternal grandson of John Shuey (Karen), and Bonnie Jones (Jim); cherished great-grandson of Dave and Mary Ellen Shuey, and Betty Gerlach and the late James "Jim" Gerlach; loving nephew of William Scrobe, Michael Scrobe, Marykate Scrobe, and Kurt Shuey (Faith Haskies). Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 610 W. Macphail Rd., Bel Air, MD 21014, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at St. Ignatius Church, 533 East Jarrettsville Rd., Forest Hill, MD 21050. Interment will follow at Bel Air Memorial Gardens, 809 Rock Spring Road, Bel Air, MD 21014.
