Jarvis Leng

Leng - Jarvis, age 90, passed away of natural causes on Feb. 22, 2024 in his home in Huntington. Jarvis was born September 12, 1933 on Staten Island. He attended Cornell University from 1950-1955, graduating with a degree in aeronautical engineering. He married Charity Ketzer, also a Staten Island native and Cornell grad. They divorced in 1972. Leng worked for Grumman for 35 years as a research engineer. He was on the team that developed the Apollo 11 lunar module that landed on the moon in 1969. He was an avid tennis and paddle player, opera buff, and wine connoisseur. He is survived by his three daughters, Diana Williams, Judith Leng, and Elizabeth Leng; four grandsons, Trent Williams, RJ Williams, Jonathan Gross, and Zeke Lawrence; and one granddaughter, Kylie Lawrence.
