Joan Ford Obituary
Ford as a teenager. Joan and Whitey married in 1951 and enjoyed 69 years together as husband and wife. She was the matriarch of the family, perfecting a balance of raising three children while showing dedication and support to her husband who perfected his craft on the pitcher's mound. Her life became an embodiment of love. Her kindness and generosity showed no bounds. Joan was immensely proud of her ever-growing family, and she leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She is lovingly survived by her son,
Edward Ford and his wife, Cathi Ford, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, her sister Margaret Bartels and brother-in-law Robert Bartels, and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward "Whitey" Ford, her children Thomas Ford, Sally Ann Clancy and son-in-law Stephen Clancy, her sister Sally Slattery, brother-in-law Thomas Slattery, her father Joseph Foran and her mother Margaret Foran. Visitation on Thursday from 4pm-8pm at the Fairchild Funeral Chapel, 1570 Northern Blvd., Manhasset. Funeral Mass on Friday 11am at St. Mary's Church, Manhasset with interment to follow at Locust Valley Cemetery, Locust Valley.

Dear Ed,
This is Donna Foley (aka Donna Holmes). Please accept our families Heartfelt Condolences on your Mom´s passing. I did correspond with your Mon after your Dad´s passing. I had many conversations in the last decade as I cared for Bee & Gene. Your parents were truly dear friends of my parents & I have such memories of both. As I write this I am tearful. Joan was so good about calling my Mom after Gene´s passing. I am certain her guardian angel wrapped arms around her & took her to your Dad. They were a magnificent team together. May your holidays be filled with loving memories & hope you can smile at many. God Bless you & your family.

Dear Ed and the Entire Extended Ford Family,
So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I truly believe she, at this very moment, is in the Light of the Lord as well as with "Whitey", Tom and Sally Ann. Tom and I were friends in high school and he spoke often of his family in glowing terms.
Even though I am unable to be with you at this time, please know I keep your Mom and the entire Ford Family in my daily prayers and ask the Good Lord to Bless each and every one of you during this most difficult time,
