John was a man I was privileged to call my friend. He was
My confidant and I trusted him completely. He was the best traveling partner I ever had as he would calm my fear of flying by telling me stories until the plane landed. He was very proud of his family but Cindy was his prize. He adored her and was always so proud of her. I will miss my friend so much. May God welcome him with open arms. You will surely be missed.

My condolences and deepest sympathies go out to John's family in their loss of such a beloved person. John was truly a man that could be counted on to meet any challenge, no matter how difficult or impossible it seemed to be at the time. I remember former JFK Plant Manager Tommy Guttadauro (RIP) , at one of the daily Christmas meetings held with the carriers, making light of John's ability to move mail without planes or trucks after moving tons of Military mail to our troops in the Middle-East. He and Tommy are probably laughing about that right now. Rest in Peace John. You will surely be missed.

Dear Cindy,
Our deepest sympathies.
We will miss our dear friend, John. So many wonderful memories of our holidays together with Mark and Judee Gilbert in Hawaii - Sunset drinks under the Banyan Tree and Teppanyaki at Benihana´s.
He was also such a great Interline colleague. First meeting when John worked at ANA.
We enjoyed so many good times together over the years at the USPS Postal meetings.
After the series business, always looked forward to "friendship drinks" .
Vale Dear John Fleming.

I've been remembering so many times with Uncle John... from going clamming in Nova Scotia to the ferry ride to Fire Island & to him getting me Billy Joel tickets! The many weddings and times in Brentwood & trips into the city. He was a great story teller. Uncle John loves his family so much and will be missed. Thinking of all of you at this sad time and sending my love. Miss you!

John was one of the most welcoming and generously kind people I've known. He always lit up when talking about his family and friends and the next adventure on the calendar. John will be missed terribly but leaves so many of us with a smile from our shared time together. What an amazing journey he has had. I wish you all peace and wonderful memories to rely on during this difficult time.

Despite our age difference it was inevitable that two guys who grew up in New York City would become the closest of friends. Who would have known we would both travel the world to places beyond our wildest imagination given the modest circumstances and difficult neighborhoods where we spent our formative years, sometimes individually, sometimes together, and, if we were lucky, with our wives Cindy and Judee. We have shared many so experiences, laughed till tears were in our eyes and our sides hurt, closed many a bar. shared outrageous stories and reveled in each others accomplishments. The thing I will always most remember about John is his love of family; how proud he was of Kevin, Kristen, their spouses and his grandchildren. I will miss my very dearest friend beyond my ability to put to words. John, you were a good man in the truest sense. Rest in peace.

It was inevitable that two kids that were products of some of the rougher streets of New York City would become inseparable friends. From meager means we were blessed to go on to travel the world sometimes together sometimes not to places we could barely imagine in our youth. We were most fortunate when we could bring our loving spouses along. The four of us had some truly "hi ho" times together. Despite living many miles apart, rare was a day when John and I did not talk. I will miss the laughs and the adventures we shared. His love of family was boundless. His memory will be a blessing, bringing smiles on even the gloomiest of days. My "brother" John fought the good fight. Rest in peace my dearest of friends.
