Joseph Mileti Obituary

Mileti - Joseph Anthony (aka, Joey Mills), age 82, died of lung disease on November 16, 2021 in Delray Beach, Florida. Joey is survived by his wife, Patricia of Delray Beach; his daughter, Lisa Mileti; his two sons, Anthony and Joey

Mileti; his granddaughter, Cassidy Mileti; and two grandsons, Joey and Marco Mileti. Joey was born on January 18, 1939, in the Bronx, NY, to parents Anthony and Mary Mileti. In 1960, he married his childhood sweetheart, Patricia Chase and shortly thereafter graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a master's degree in Music Education. After a five-year career as a music teacher in the Bronx, Joey joined the Bob Thomas Orchestra full time and substantially grew the company along with his four business partners. In 1980, Bob Thomas Orchestras merged with Steven Scott Orchestras, where Joey went on to serve as the CEO of Steven Scott for the next 25 years. In addition to his family, among Joey's many pursuits were music, golf, chess and thoroughbred handicapping. However, his lifelong passion was playing the saxophone. Joey played the sax starting at age 13 until just before his death at age 82. His playing brought joy to thousands of Steven Scott patrons over the years, including future presidents, well-known sports figures and several icons of the music industry. His family and friends will always remember him as a generous, engaging, intelligent and kind person.
