ROBERGE - Joseph P. of Moriches on January 31, 2017. He was 92. Joe was a highly-decorated WW II U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran, a retired chemistry teacher and professor at Bellport High School, St. Joseph's College and Suffolk Community Colleges. He was pre-deceased by his son Cpt. Paul J. Roberge in 1977 and by first wife Dorothy in 1980. Joe is survived by his second wife, Dorothy Mullane Roberge, his 4 daughters, Martha Roberge (John Shanahan), Terry Yacubich (Steve), Dr. Nancy Roberge-Meyer (William) and Ellen Poynter (Gary). Joe is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Reposing Sunday 1-5pm at Robertaccio Funeral Home Inc., 85 Rte 112, Patchogue NY 11772. Funeral Mass Monday 10am Mary Immaculate Church. Interment Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cpt. P.J. Roberge Scholarship Fund at Bellport High School c/o Martha Roberge, P.O. Box 313, Accord, NY 12404.

I shared accelerator duty with Joe on the night shift at BNL. What a wonderful stories he could tell - what a wonderful man! I will never forget him and am so sorry for those he loved and left behind.

Mr.Roberge was my J.V.baseball coach at New Paltz.I also remember him as Coach Johnson's ass't for the football team and his work with the track program.Was a wonderful teacher.May he rest in peace.
