Milton Schwartz Obituary

SCHWARTZ - Milton born on June 11, 1931 and passed July 9, 2016. Milton was born in the Bronx, NY to Sam and Esther Schwartz. Milton was very proud to serve in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, and is the recipient of numerous service medals and stars. On his first night back from overseas, Milton met Alice Hirsch on a blind date; they were married the following year.Together, Milton and Alice grew the food service equipment business Advance Tabco from one location in New York to a leading international company with numerous locations and employees. Milton was the second generation owner-operator of Advance Tabco and was incredibly proud to see the fourth generation firmly ensconced in the company. Milton was a very generous man, and gave a great deal of his time and effort to the staff and residents of JARC (Jewish Association for Residential Care), who he considered a second family. While Milton was known as a man of few words, he will be remembered for his kindness, dry wit, sense of adventure, love of lists, dancing, and brainteasers. He is survived by his wife, best friend, and partner of 62 years Alice Schwartz; daughters Wendy (Al), Janey (Bob), Penny (Glen), Cathy and son Daniel (Roxanne); 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his brother Norman (June) and sister Susan in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

One of the smartest men I ever had the pleasure of knowing. He represented to me what is the best of being a human with his compassion.
