Owen McCarthy Obituary
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (John), grand children Brendan (Samantha), Bridget (Nick), Daniel and new Great Grandson, Owen Jack. His wife Eileen (née Gilmartin) passed in 2006.
Owen, worked his way up from mail room to the position of vice president at Manufacturer's Hanover trust bank. Before his retirement he survived the mergers with Chemical Bank as well as JP Morgan Chase. He served as a groundskeeper at Shea Stadium.
Known around Long Island as "the Cardinal" , Owen was fiercely proud of his County Mayo, Irish heritage, and was firmly dedicated to his family and his faith .
During Owen's time living and raising his family in Central Islip NY, he was a valued member of the Central Islip Volunteer Fire Dept. In retirement Owen was a member of the CIFD Benevolent Society .
