US Navy Veteran 1943-1945. 30 Year Veteran of the NYC Police Department from 1950-1980, retiring as Detective. Lifetime member of the P.B.A. and D.E.A. Lifetime member of the Geo. W. Hudson Council #3701, Knights of Columbus. Loving husband of the late Mary E. McGinn (nee McGahan) for 68 years. Beloved father of Kathleen McGuinness and her husband Jack, Timothy R. McGinn (Lt. NYPD) and his wife Judy McGinn (Deputy Chief, NYPD) and the late Raymond T. McGinn (I.B.E.W., Local#3), dear father-in-law to Jodi McGinn. Cherished grandfather of Danny (Lt. FDNY) and his wife Vanessa, John McGuinness (FDNY) and his wife Trisha, Kevin (DSNY) and the late Eamon (DSNY). Loving great grandfather to Josephine, Adella Ray, Anthony and Leo. Reposing at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home 43-07 Queens Blvd. Sunnyside, NY, Wednesday 2-5 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, St. Teresa RC Church, Thursday, 10:30 AM.
