I am deeply saddened by this news. I was just sending out christmas cards and went to look up his address even though I've known it for many years. I have his phone number etched in my brain and will never forget it. I did not know he passed away; I spoke to him last year sometime, probably on his birthday as I called him every year. I've been out of the state for years but always got in touch with him at some point in time. I met Rex from my friend Harvey in 1969; we spent many times at his apartment in Baldwin where he had cars always being worked on in the backyard. He was going out with Winnie then. He was going out of his way to help people and he loved cleaning chimneys even as he grew older. When I spoke to him last year, he told me he still spent his Sundays doing jobs that no one else would do but on his time; he didn't start at job til 10 and was done by 4. I am truly sorry and will miss him; so many people that I knew passed away in 2023 including my own husband. They will all be remembered with love and memories forever. Rex was my forever friend and will always be; so sorry for his loss.
