Fr. Joyce was not only a great priest, but a great "guy" . His demeanor was so relatable to almost everyone he met. He would help anyone at any time, he did for me and my wife. Not only a loss for me personally, but for the entire parish. Rest easy Fr. Joyce and Let's go Yankees !!

Tom was a fun-loving delightful friend; he was 2 years ahead of me at St. Justin's and many a day we spent talking in the hallway of the second floor as he "did his duties" being a hall monitor! Guess he polished his "confessional and counseling" skills early on...! I am sorry for your loss; his life was full and accomplished. To read the obit was indeed a comfort and a tribute to a life well lived. sheila doran-benyon

Many years ago, Father Tom was a strong and kind guiding influence among the teens in our parish- I have often thought of him over the years as someone who helped me get a good start in life. He was truly a good shepherd.

Father Joyce was a classmate at St. Justin's H.S and our paths crossed in Jamaica, NY at the ordination of Father Jim O'Shea. He made it seem like we had stayed close since our graduation. I am certain he touched the lives of many and helped them to see Jesus in all of their neighbors.

I met Father Joyce on a retreat in my high school years. He personally took some time to meet every student on the retreat. Some weeks after the retreat ended, he wrote me a letter. I found out that he had mailed many of the other students too. He was the only Passionist priest I ever met... a beautiful man just based upon a weekend's retreat. He must have influenced many a person on this earth. Rest in peace.
