Thomas Quinn Obituary

Quinn - Thomas, 74, husband, brother, and uncle sadly left this world on February 20, 2025, after a life of helping others while struggling with his own challenges. Tom grew up on Long Island and eventually settled in Glens Falls, NY. Tom was a disabled veteran that reached out to other disabled veterans through his volunteer work with the Disable American Veterans (DAV) organization. Tom also over the years helped raise and train guide dogs. Tom showed many disabled veterans how they could play and enjoy golf again. He helped pave the way for many amputees and was inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Eastern Amputee Golf Association in 2008. He is survived by his wife, Susan; his three brothers, Richard, Edward, and John. Donations are welcome to North Shore Animal League or the DAV. Private Service.

Dear Susan,

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I know that he fought the great fight till the end. I know that he was at peace with his life having you by his side. What a terrific human being. I did love him. We had some great time out and about with the EAGA playing golf and teaching other amputee the game. I will never forget meeting him many moons ago at the Eastern Regional at Harbourtown, MD. His work with the NAGA First Swing Clinic was wonderful. We had a great trip down to Dallas, TX to the Texas Scottish Rite Children's Hospital to help Dana Dempsey get her First Swing Clinic up and running. I appreciate all the support that Tom gave us as a Vice-President of the EAGA in the early years. It was very special for Linda and me to come to your Wedding out in Long Island. I especially enjoy doing the First Swing Clinic with Tom at Lake Placid years ago. So many good times. He was a wonderful friend, and I miss him dearly. Rest in Peace! I hope that you are doing OK.

Wonderful that he was buried at Saratoga National with full military honors. Thank you for letting me know of Tom's passing.

Much Love,

Bob

We were in Florida when the news of Tommy´s passing was relayed to us by sister Ellen. When I was little, there would be the occasional meet up of my mom with her twin Ritchie where the "cousins" would gather. All the Quinn boys would be present. I remember how Tommy was more than game to go out on our sailboat in NJ after he had returned home and started to deal with his service injuries. I/we regret that our move out of the tristate area meant we made no effort to stay in touch with the kids of our aunts and uncles. Typically, the only reunion of sorts that happened were the passing of an aunt or uncle. I saw Tommy and the Quinn cousins last at their dad´s funeral. We send our condolences to all.

Sorry to hear about cousin Tommy. Looks like he had a great influence on many folks. It´s been many years since we all have seen each other and my thoughts bring me back to fond memories as children.
