I have often wondered over the years, where Fr. Bill was. I first met Fr. Bill at a retreat at St. Joseph's Monastery in Baltimore. I think I was in the 9th grade at the Institute of Notre Dame. I was dealing with alot of personal stuff at the time and Fr. Bill often visited our home to counsel me. As I got older I stayed in touch with him and he always remembered the visits to my home. I looked him up when I was having trouble with one of my children. We spoke for quite some time and he gave be confession and absolution. I was comforted by his kind and caring words. His gentle demeanor and voice had not changed in the 20+ years I knew him. I knew that he had relocated up North but I could not locate him until I found this obit. It sounds like everyone who knew him felt the same way. God truly gained an angel with Fr. Bill. I am sorry this is so late.

I will always remember FR. Davin as a caring, loving priest with a good Irish sense of humor. Met him through mutual friends and marched with him in the St Patrick's Day parade for a few years. God speed Fr. Bill.

Fr. Neil, my deepest sympathy to you at the passing of our dear Fr. Bill. I remember Fr. Bill from my high school days at South Side Catholic and at St. Paul's Monastery here in Pittsburgh. He is truly a saint! We will always have good memories of Fr.Bill and I know he was greeted to his heavenly home with all the bands of angels and saints to greet him. God bless you and may your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead. God bless,
