ROEMER-William J., on October 7, 2005. World War II Navy veteran of Omaha Beach and Okinawa. Retired N.Y.P.D. Detective and Special Agent F.B.I. Beloved husband of the late Katherine C. Loving father of Katherine M. Gibbs, Eileen J., William J., Mary L. Tassone, and Michael E.; daughters-in-law, Nancie and Linda; sons-in-law, Richard Gibbs, Dominick Tassone, and Peter Gilner. Cherished grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Brothers, Thomas and Joseph, sisterin-law, June Reilly. Reposing at William E. Law Funeral Home, 1 Jerusalem Avenue, Massapequa, N.Y. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, 9:45 AM, at St. Ignatius R.C. Church, Hicksville, N.Y. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday and Monday, 2-5 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Lustgarten Foundation.
