Brett D. Smith, 62 of Connersville passed away on October 19, 2025. He was born on October 10, 1963 in Connersville, to Archie Smith and Janice Smith Masters.
Brett served in the United States Air Force for 3 years.
On October 18, 2005, Brett married Shelly Davidson Hooten.
For 27 years, Brett worked at Baxter, also known as Hill-Rom, where he was a hospital bed welder and worked in the warehouse.
Brett was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening and most importantly spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of, 20 years, Shelly Smith; his daughter, Ashley Renee Smith; his son, William Douglas Smith; step children, Justin Jordan, Josh Jordan, Lecia Hooten and Jacob Hooten; grandchildren, Karter Smtih, Isabella Gutzwiller, Damion Ball, Paisley Hooten, Dawson Smith, Wyatt Smith and Ivy Fehl; and his sisters, Vicki (Bill) Macke and Tina (Leland) Allison.
Brett was preceded in death by his father, Archie Smith; his mother and stepfather, Janice Smith Masters and Jerry Russell Masters; and a granddaughter, Kelley Ann Hooten.
A private memorial service will be held at the convivence of the family.
