Juanita wasn´t my Aunt but I still addressed her as Aunt Juanita and she accepted that from me. My Mother and she were distant friends from many years ago. In addition, her niece Sandi Hatfill Corbin is a close friend of mine and helped to make it easy
To befriend Juanita. One of our early meetings, Juanita arranged a card game at her apartment with several of her friends including some of us. Her mind was always thinking and she loved to play card games.
Juanita was a happy person and loved to be around people. She always met me with open arms when I would visit her at her apartment or assisted living quarters. She loved her independence and could "talk your ear off" when she had a mind to. I don´t think I ever heard her say a negative word about anyone. When you got her to reminisce about her younger days, she could relate everything from her life. She had such a positive spirit about life. Her life can be characterized as a Christian believer. She will be missed by all who knew her. My deepest sympathy.
