Troy Jean Brown, 85, of Indianapolis and formerly of Connersville, died Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025, at her residence of Westside Garden Plaza.
The daughter of the late Thomas Elmo and Helena Hunt Gray Dalton, Troy was born on September 22nd, 1940. After graduating from High School, she married her true love Charles Brown, in April of 1958. She was employed for many years at Connersville Utilities until her much deserved retirement.
Troy served as a 4-H leader and swim team mom. She was an active member of the BPOE in Connersville, while serving as the Elk's secretary. One year she was awarded secretary of the year for all of the state Indiana Elk Lodges. Troy enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Indianapolis Hosta Society and the Connersville Garden Club. She was once a participant on the game show Password, where she won $200.00 and a set of American Tourist Baggage. She was an avid painter, reader, and an incredible seamstress. Perhaps most of all, Troy enjoyed her many adventures with her beloved husband Charles in their travels around the world.
In addition to her husband of sixty-seven years, Charles, Troy is survived by her children and their spouses: Michael S. and Kathy Brown: Kelly J. and Mark Meisenhelder; her brothers, along with their spouses: Curtis and Mary Dalton, Terry and Jeanne Dalton; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Oh my...we are stunned and saddened at the news of Troy's passing. Though it has been some time since we have seen the two of you, we hold many delightful memories of our days at the Elks with you both. She was a beautiful lady who will be terribly missed by her family and many friends.
