Agnes McNiel Obituary
Agnes Jansenius McNiel, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Covenant Hospice of Bay Bedical Center Sacred Heart with her family by her side.
She was born in Panama Pity and lived here her entire life.
She was predeceased in death by her father, Joseph Jansenius.
She is survived by her mother, Blanche Jansenius; her children, Diane Swindell (Mark) of Jacksonville, FL, Stacey Pitts and Billy McNiel (Margaret) of Panama City; a brother, Robert Jansenius and a sister Gwen Lundgard (Jack); three grandchildren, Lance McNiel, Joanna Pitts and Chris Yuhas; as well as numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was a 1957 graduate of Bay Bigh School. She attended Sacred Heart Nursing School in Pensacola, FL and worked for 45 years at various nursing facilities in Panama City. She was a member of St. Andrews Primitive Baptist Church.
Agnes was an avid reader up until several months ago. She enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and will always be remembered for her unique gifts she gave at family gatherings.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Southerland Funeral Home with Pastor J.C. Stanaland officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on monday prior to the service. Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted at www.southerlandfamily.com.
