Katharina Lafleur Obituary
Panama City Beach - Katharina Schlund Lafleur passed away on July 8, 2021 at the age of 99. She was born on May 14, 1922 in Leimen/Heidleberg, Germany and moved to the United States in 1955.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Wilhelm and Elisabetha Huttler Schlund; her first husband, Wilhelm Czepluch; and her second husband, Omar Lafleur; a sister and two brothers.
Survivors include her son, Ralf W.K. Czepluch (Jane) of Panama City, FL; Rene La Fleur (Glinda) of Frisco, TX; grandchild, Kristin Byers; two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Raeghen all of Saginaw, TX; nephews, Gunther and Rita Borle of Bern, Switzerland and Reiner and Helga Koening of Dortmund, Germany.
Katie had many wonderful friends and extended family throughout her life including, Larry and Diane Ratliff of Seguin, TX and Jim and Gabi Reed of Seguin, TX. She especially enjoyed Jane's children and grandchildren.
Katie experienced life to the fullest and enjoyed recanting stories of her days in Germany, Switzerland, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas and Panama City.
The family would like to thank Becky Rogers, devoted friend and caregiver, as well as Covenant Hospice and the staff at Superior Residence of Panama City Beach.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity, the Humane Society, or local library in memory of Katharina Schlund Lafleur. Expressions of sympathy may be viewed at www.southerlandfamily.com
