Robert Gary Obituary

Robert Samuel "Bobby" Gary, 57, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011.

He was born June 3, 1953, in Dothan, Ala., and was raised in Ozark, Ala. He was the Retail Manager at Pep Boys on 23rd Street for the past 18 years.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Gary; daughter, Genna Murray; grandson, Mikie Murray; sister, Debbie Graham; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holman Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark, Ala. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at Holman Funeral Home. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 4001 W. 23rd St., Suite C, Panama City, FL 32405, in memory of Robert Gary. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Chuck Parrish, Jimmy "Bozy" Redd, Michael Patterson, Ray Terin and Scott VanRope. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Dunn, David Parrish, Mike Harvey, Steve Snellgrove, Ricky Parrish and David Carmichael.

Bobby - such a beautiful smile and a sweet southern accent. You were always such a gentleman. You were probably the most spontaneous and fun person I have ever known and I am going to miss you! Never forget the first time you took me to PCB - it was amazing and you told me it was your heaven on earth...I know your in a place thousands of times prettier with sand that glitters like diamonds, Rest in Peace my friend, I am praying for your family... so glad I was able to talk with you lately...you were definitely special!

My heart and prayers go out to family and friends...Bob and I have been close friends for a long time, I am going to miss calling him on his birthday every year. He has always held a special place in my heart. I will cherish our memories forever. He will truly be missed.
Genna, I know you were his world and he loved you very very much...let me know if I can do anything for you....

I did not hear about this until today 2/8 and am deeply in shock over this....Bob Gary and I were married when we lived in Houston, we have always stayed in touch with each other off and on. I consider him a wounderful person and close friend. Always a joy to be around. I will deeply miss him...my thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family... Cheryl Gary (Ocala, FL)
