Sonya Whitehead Delaney

Sonya Whitehead Delaney, 53, passed away unexpectedly Sunday November 5th, 2017 in her sleep in Riverview, FL.

Sonya was born Dec. 18th, 1963, in Thibodaux, LA and was a lifelong resident of the Panama City area. She worked as a secretary, delivery driver, was a volunteer for Bay County Council On Aging, was an avid and eclectic picker, crafter, restorer, collector, and lover of all things shiny. She loved to laugh, make others laugh, and spend time with her significant other, children, grandchild, siblings, and pets.

She is survived by her daughter, Whitney Fleming and husband Justin, of Riverview and granddaughter Kristen Fleming; son Sean Delaney, of Panama City; father Frank Whitehead and wife Diane, of Lynn Haven; significant other Greg "Spanky" Hobbs, of Panama City; her sisters Latesha Whitehead Flora/ Bill Lang, of Panama City; Angie LeBouef and husband Kenny, Thibodaux; brother Kenny Bourgeois and wife Gretta, Thibodaux; two nieces Megan Whitehead, of Panama City, Kelsey LeBouef, Thibodaux; and nephews Jordan Bourgeois, Braxton Bourgeois, Cody LeBouef, Thibodaux; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and canine love Nahla.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Fran Raven Bourgeois; nephew Justin Collins; and Grandmother Uradell Sumblin.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 9th, 2017 from 2:00-5:30pm, at The Place Downtown, 429 Harrison Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401
