ELYSBURG - Betty Christine Adams, 90, of Elysburg, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021.
She was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Bloomsburg, to Harry and Louella (Kline) Weiss.
She graduated from Danville High School, June 1, 1948.
Betty married John K. Adams, July 24, 1953. They were married for 49 years. After raising five sons together, John and Betty enjoyed traveling together in retirement. Betty always cherished being mother to her five boys, and in later years and until her death, took great joy in her close relationships with her grandchildren.
She worked in the Southern Columbia Area School District as a teacher's aid and volunteered at the Ralpho Township Public Library.
For more 60 years, Betty was well-known around the "the Burg" and was fortunate to have many generous and kind friends and neighbors.
Throughout her adult life, she enjoyed painting, music, gardening and visiting her family on the beaches of Delaware.
"The Farm" was the place that brought Betty the most happiness, whether she was surrounded by her family there, visiting with friends, basking in the sun on the patio or watching the cows return to the barns each evening. Anyone who visited her there will have fond memories of her waving goodbye from the picture window. She will be deeply missed.
Betty is survived by her sons, James (Joanne) Adams, Harry "Michael" (Linda) Adams, David Adams and Timothy (Lucinda) Adams; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John; her sisters, Alice Weiss Yordy and Constance Weiss Yordy; and her son, Scott Adams.
