ELYSBURG - Bryant George Farrence, 69, of Elysburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at his home in the company of his wife after a courageous battle with neuroendocrine cancer.
He was born on Feb. 25, 1953, and was a son of the late George and Marian Farrence. He grew up in Spring Grove, with his sister, Michele and graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1971, where he was a member of the esteemed basketball team which was recently inducted into the school's hall of fame. Upon graduation, Bryant attended Lenoir Rhyne University, in North Carolina, and Hahnemann Medical College completing the Physician Assistant program. He moved to Mount Carmel and worked with Dr. Dave Scicchitano for many years. He eventually switched careers and began working with Merck Pharmaceuticals in the 1990s until his retirement.
He married the love of his life, Dianne (Tomtishen) Farrence, in 1993 and they would have celebrated their 30th anniversary May 1, 2023.
Bryant loved to golf and was often seen on the greens of many local golf courses and belonged to Indian Hills Golf Course in Paxinos. His yard was his pride and joy and he could often be seen doing yardwork and cutting the grass. If you drove by their home, you could count on seeing Bryant outside working on his home or in the yard which was meticulous. Bryant also loved his trips to the beach at Ocean City, Maryland, and their home in Florida.
Besides playing golf, Bryant loved spending time with his two grandsons, Cole and Kaden. He was their biggest fan and often cheering them on at their various sporting events.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Dianne, is his daughter Laura Davis and husband Josh; two grandsons Cole and Kaden Davis; a sister Michele Holtzapple and husband Jim, two nieces Elizabeth Krebs and her husband Richard, and Katie Jamison and her husband Logan; a great-nephew Tanner Krebs and a great-niece Mackenzie Krebs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marian and George Farrence.

Dear Farrence Family I am very sorry for your loss of a special person. I had the privilege to work with Bryant at Merckfor many years. Bryant was a colleague that supported all teammates with his knowledge of disease states and pharmaceutical expertise more than the management. Thank you my good friend for your support . You will be greatly missed.
