KULPMONT — Christine "Tina" Lucas, 75, of 122 Oak Lane, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016, at the home of her daughter following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Shamokin, Oct. 10, 1940, a daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Segesky) Olbrish. She spent most of her life living in the Kulpmont area.
She was a 1958 graduate of Kulpmont High School.
On April 15, 1961, in St. Mary's Church, Kulpmont, she married the late Robert Joseph Lucas, who preceded her in death June 27, 2015.
For many years, she worked as a teller at the First National Trust Bank in Kulpmont, and later worked as a guidance secretary at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School.
Christine was a member of the Church of the Holy Angles, Kulpmont, and also served as treasurer of the Kulpmont High School Alumni Association.
She was an avid sports fan and loved playing Jeopardy with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Lucas Jr., of Kulpmont, and Chris Lucas and his wife, Kim, of Shamokin; a daughter, Barbara Chesnik and her husband, Mark, of Oreland; four grandchildren, Tim and Joey Chesnik, and Olivia and Tyler Lucas; a brother, Edward Olbrish and his wife, Diane, of Mount Carmel; a sister, Marion Stewart, of Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Darrup and her husband, Jim, of Mount Carmel, and Joan Johnson and her husband, Ray, of Virginia.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clement Olbrish and his wife, Irene; a sister-in-law, Jean Shamanski and her husband, Fred; and a brother-in-law, Bill Stewart.
LUCAS — Christine Lucas, 75, of 122 Oak Lane, Kulpmont. Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with the Rev. Andrew Stahmer as celebrant. At the request of the deceased, there will not be a viewing. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont.
