David Logic Obituary

COAL TOWNSHIP — David M. Logic, 53, of 1237 W. Montgomery St., died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 at 5:18 a.m. in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after his most recent illness of nine months.

Born in Shamokin on June 1, 1954, he is a son of Robert G. and the late Patricia (Pedro) Logic.

David was a 1972 graduate of Shamokin High School.

On Feb. 16, 1991, in the Shiloh Bible Church, Bloomsburg, he married the former Lorrie S. Long, who survives.

He was a tractor-trailer driver for Pennsylvania Power and Light Company of Humboldt Park, Hazleton.

David is a member of Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, Coal Township, as well as the Fairview Gun Club, Coal Township, and the Union County Sportsmans Club. He was chief steward for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 1600, and a former active member of the Fairview Fire Company, Coal Township, where he served as president and captain.

David enjoyed hunting and bird hunting with his dogs, Hannah and Heidie, fly fishing, camping, canoeing and traveling and was a Notre Dame sports fan. He was well known for his wit and humor and thoughtfulness, and touched many people with these great attributes throughout his life.

In addition to his wife, Lorrie, and father, Robert, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Heather J. and Joseph Baskin and Nicole L. and Jeff Steele, all of Shamokin; his sister Pat Mariano and her daughter Jamie Mariano, both of Shamokin; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one son in infancy, Nicholas Robert Logic, who died in 1981.

LOGIC — David M. Logic, 53, of 1237 W. Montgomery St., Coal Township. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, First and Chestnut streets, Coal Township, with a parish priest officiating. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening with a Christian vigil service at 6:30 p.m. in the Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home, 120 S. Market St., Shamokin. Relatives and friends attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at Our Lady of Hope Church Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Geisinger Health System/Hematology, Oncology Departments, 100 Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17822.

I graduated with Dave from SAHS in '72. Dave was a great friend. I was so sad to know he was sick and so sad to learn he has died.
