ELYSBURG - Gilbert S. Abbott, 23, of Elysburg, passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 4, 2024, from injuries sustained in a tragic accident in Ralpho Township.
He was born in Watertown, New York, May 1, 2001, a son of Sonia Arias and Thomas Abbott.
Gilbert was of the Catholic faith.
He graduated from Line Mountain High School, in 2020.
Gilbert was employed by McDonald's, in Elysburg.
He enjoyed astrology, geology and skateboarding. Gilbert was a wealth of knowledge, a true Renaissance man. He was a well-versed master of trivia and a social butterfly who would always brighten the day of those lives he touched.
Gilbert is survived by his mother, Sonia Arias, of Elysburg; his father, Thomas Abbott Sr., of Florida; a brother, Thomas Abbott Jr. (Logan Sheets), of Los Angeles; two sisters, Claire Abbott, of Sunbury, and Ashley Abbott, of San Jose, California; and a beloved dog, Poser.
Gilbert was preceded in death by a brother, Damian Abbott, in 2017; maternal grandparents, Juana Rodriquez and Damaso Arias; and paternal grandparents, Dorothy Morrison and Larry Abbott.
ABBOTT - Gilbert S. Abbott, 23, of Elysburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Queen of Most Holy Rosary Church, 599 W. Center St., Elysburg. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday with both visitations held at the church. I never knew him! I am friends with his mom, and she idolized him, his brother and sister. So sorry for the family´s loss
