PAXINOS — Irvin Franklin Snyder Jr., 84, of 645 Mountain Road, Paxinos, passed away at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Golden LivingCenter, Sunbury.
Born in Shamokin on Dec. 18, 1932, he was a son of the late Irvin Franklin Snyder Sr. and Harriet L. Otterson Snyder.
He attended Ralpho Township schools. Irvin served in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years, serving in Korea, Vietnam and Thailand.
On July 7, 1956, in Elysburg United Methodist Church, he married the former Marlene Ann Noll, who preceded him in death on May 9, 2008.
Irvin moved to Paxinos in 1976. Following the Air Force, he ran the Shamokin Cycle Shop, making small engine repairs for many years. He was of the protestant faith and a life member of the Mount Carmel American Legion.
He is survived by a son and daughter, Irvin (Frank) Snyder III and wife, Cindy, of Elysburg, and Charlene Hamp and husband, Barry, of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Melanie Guinter, Melissa Muraco, Frank Snyder and David Madara; great-grandchildren, Parker Guinter, Damien Madara, Peigton Madara and Corine Madara; and his cat, Simon.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cyndi Madara, and a son, Charles Snyder.
SNYDER — Irvin Franklin Snyder Jr., 84, of 645 Mountain Road, Paxinos. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, from Farrow Funeral Directors, 240 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin. Burial will follow at Northumberland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
