Josephine A. Misiewicz

COAL TOWNSHIP — Josephine A. Misiewicz, 101, a resident of Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Kulpmont, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born March 19, 1914, in Shenandoah, to the late Peter and Mary (Samson) Swetra.

She attended Kulpmont schools.

She was a member of Holy Angels Church in Kulpmont.

On June 30, 1937, in Kulpmont, she married Joseph Misiewicz, who preceded her in death in 1998.

She was a retired garment factory worker and had for many years worked as a seamstress.

She was an avid bingo player and shopper. She was also an accomplished seamstress and crocheter.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Bressi and her husband, Michael, of Elysburg, Nancy Marino and her husband, Michael, of Lewes, Delaware, and Joan Petroski and her husband, David, of Shamokin; seven grandchildren, Michael, Mark, Joe, Christine, Melissa, Jennifer and David; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Tamecki, of Mount Carmel, and several nieces and nephews.

In addtion to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph, and five brothers.

MISIEWICZ — Josephine A. Misiewicz, 101, a resident of Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Kulpmont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Angels Church, Kulpmont, with the Rev. Andrew Stahmer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J.
