COAL TOWNSHIP - Lawrence Leonard "Pat" Kosmer, 93, of 517 S. Bay St., died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.
He was born in Shamokin, April 27, 1928, a son of the late Walter and Mary (Zelinskie)
He was a graduate of Coal Township High School.
Lawrence was married June 4, 1949, at St. Michael Church, in Shamokin, by Father Klimas to the former Dolores Magaskie, who survives.
He was employed as a parts coordinator for the federal government, having worked at the U.S. Air Force base, in Middletown, and then transferred to the Navy Supply Depot, in Mechanicsburg, from where he retired in 1988.
He spent his retirement years hunting, fishing and shooting at many of the local clubs. He also spent a lot of his time in his shop making and repairing things. He enjoyed woodworking. He loved walking and walked every day from the time he retired, no matter what the weather.
Lawrence enlisted in the U.S. Army, Dec. 12, 1945, and served the majority of his enlistment in Panama. He received an honorable discharge Nov. 28, 1948, from Fort Jay, New York.
Pat is survived by his wife, Dolores; their daughter, Patricia Ann Kosmer Strunk and her husband, Kenneth, of New Jersey; and a granddaughter, Amber Lynn Strunk Verderosa and her husband, Aries, of New Jersey.
In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by twin brothers, Walter and William Kosmer; and a favorite nephew, James Kosmer.
KOSMER - Lawrence Leonard "Pat" Kosmer, 93, of 517 S. Bay St., Coal Township. Service was private for the immediate family. Leonard J. Lucas Jr., director, Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
