Marian Williams Obituary

ELYSBURG - Marian J. Williams, 89, of Elysburg, went to see her heavenly king and had her coronation into glory Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024.

She was born at Bloomsburg Hospital, July 27, 1934, a daughter of Lee and Jane Miller. She moved to Catawissa, in 1943, where she was raised by Jack and Pearl Richel and met Jimmy, her future husband, in fourth grade.

She was a graduate of Catawissa High School, Class of 1952.

Marian had an unwavering faith in her Lord and savior. If you were around her very long you, too, would hear about Jesus. Marian was a charter member of Elysburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She was a Sunday school teacher, member of the prayer team and widow's ministry.

Marian was passionate about sharing the love of Jesus to children. She was involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship as a Good News Club teacher and Shamokin Christian Layman Park Ministry.

Marian worked for Farnsworth Camping Center. After her retirement, she was an accessor for Ralpho Township. She loved the Bloomsburg Fair and worked in the arts and crafts building.

Marian loved to travel and ran many bus trips. She loved seeing the country and meeting new friends. Sharing a fresh cup of hot, black coffee with a friend was one of her simple pleasures.

Marian's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family - her "4 D's": Dave, Dan, Doug and Deb and spouses Naomi and Todd; her grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, Nathan, Ally, Ashlee, Caleb and Brooke; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Roberta; and nieces, Colleen, Edna and Susan.

Marian was preceded into glory by her high school sweetheart and husband of 64 years, Jim "Stecky"; two precious daughters-in-law, Sue and Valerie; and a grandson, Joshua.

WILLIAMS - Marian J. Williams, 89, of Elysburg. Marian, always thinking of others, requested a spring coronation celebration so her friends' attendance wouldn't be affected by bad weather. The coronation will be held Saturday, April 27, with a time and place to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Northumberland County, 53 Blue Hill, Northumberland 17857. Heller Funeral Home LLC, Nescopeck, is entrusted with arrangements.
