ELYSBURG - Mark Richard Slagle, 63, of 131 Wynn School Road, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, at his home.
He was born in Danville, Feb. 10, 1959, a son of the late Harry Willis and Violet Rose (Posevich) Slagle.
Mark graduated in 1977 from Southern Columbia Area High School, and in 1979 from Williamsport Area Community College.
He was married June 5, 1993, to the former Donna Weaver.
Mark worked for Paper Magic, in Elysburg, as a production planner until 2002. Following that, he was employed at IPS Packaging Co., in Milton, as a plant manager until his retirement in 2020.
He was a member of Elysburg United Methodist Church.
Mark was a dedicated member of the Elysburg Fire Department where he served as fire chief in 1988, 1992 and 1993, and as assistant fire chief.
Mark is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Donna; daughters, Alicia Rose Marie Lewis and her husband, Tyler, and Victoria Lynn Slagle; a stepchild, Emily Poliniak and her spouse, Diana; grandchildren, Luke Poliniak, Maverick Lewis, Alexis Eichner and Aurora Eichner; a brother-in-law, Ron Weaver and his wife, Tina; a sister-in-law, Sandra Weaver; nieces and nephews and their families, Christie and Todd Timco and their daughter, Jordyn, Michael and Deb Weaver and their daughter, Ava, Jonathan and Lea Closek, Caitlin Weaver and Colby Weaver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Daniel Weaver.
SLAGLE - Mark Richard Slagle, 63, of 131 Wynn School Road, Elysburg. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 a.m. to the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at the James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. The family requests as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions be made to the Elysburg Fire Co., 1 E. Mill St., Elysburg 17824.
