MOUNT CARMEL - Peter Krynitsky, 90, of 169 E. Pennsylvania Ave., and formerly of Middletown, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Coal Township.
He was born in Centralia, May 8, 1932, a son of the late Nicholas Krynitsky and Mary (Petorak) Krynitsky-Zublick.
He was a graduate of the former Con-Cen High School.
Peter was a U.S. Army veteran.
He married Helen "Dot" (Cunningham) Krynitsky, who preceded him in death, April 22, 1993.
After working for many years, he retired from Bethlehem Steel.
Peter was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, in Steelton, and the Centralia American Legion Post 608.
He was and avid fisherman.
Surviving are two brothers, Nicholas Kent, of Williamsport, and George Krynitsky, of Virginia; a sister, Helen Whyne, of Harrisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Stephen Kent, Joseph Krynitsky, Michael Zublick, Charles Kent and John Kent; and two sisters, Mildred Potochney and Ann Machonis.
KRYNITSKY - Peter Krynitsky, 90, of 169 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Mount Carmel, and formerly of Middletown. A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mount Carmel, with the the Very Rev. Archpriest Michael Hutsko, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor.
