Robert E. Marinelli

DEN-MAR GARDENS — Robert E. Marinelli, 75, of 127 Missouri Lane, passed away suddenly Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at his home. He fought bravely through many illnesses over the course of 15 years.

Born Nov. 5, 1938, in Mount Carmel, he was a son of the late Tullio and Stella (Moratelli) Marinelli.

He was a 1956 graduate of Mount Carmel Catholic High School, attended St. Vincent's College, Latrobe, and graduated from McCann School of Business.

On Oct. 8, 1960, in St. Ignatius Church, Centralia, he married Annette (Gallagher) Marinelli, who survives.

Robert was the former owner and president of Tullio's Beverage Inc. in Mount Carmel from 1957 to 1997. He then went on to work as a sales person for Zeisloft Brothers, Danville, from 1998 to 1999.

He was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, Mount Carmel, and a former member of St. Peter's Church. He was a member of Mount Carmel Knights of Columbus Council 628 and a former member of the Elks Club, Eagles Club, West End Fire Company and the Lions Club, which he served as president from 1987 to 1988, all of Mount Carmel. He was also a former member of the Fraternity Rod and Gun Club and was a co-founder, former officer and coach of the Mount Carmel Area Jets Youth Football League for 14 years during the 1970s and 1980s.

Bob's greatest love was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid sports fan and loyal supporter of the Mount Carmel Area Red Tornadoes football and basketball programs. He was also a 40-year season ticket holder for the Penn State University Nittany Lions football team. He supported the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals. Bob enjoyed playing golf with his friends when his health allowed. Besides his love of sports, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and the hunting club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary Marinelli and his wife, Karen, and their two daughters, Kristyn and Taylor, of Jamison, and two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Galonis and her husband, Frank, of West Lawn, and Gayle Williamson and her husband, Alan, of Pipersville.

MARINELLI — Robert E. Marinelli, 75, of 127 Missouri Lane, Den-Mar Gardens. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Divine Redeemer Church, Mount Carmel with the Rev.
