Thomas Kosakowski Obituary

COAL TOWNSHIP — Thomas L. Kosakowski, 88, formerly of 170 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Shamokin March 6, 1929, a son of the late Frank and Constance (Cieslak) Kosakowski.

He was educated at St. Stanislaus Grade School and Coal Township High School.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Shamokin. He was employed at Raup's Lumber Company, Jones Hardware and Mountain View Manor, Compass Rose.

On June 30, 1956, in St. Edward Church, Shamokin, he married the late Maryann Schlichtig, who preceded him in death March 14, 2005.

He was a member of Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin, and Big Brothers. He also was a Boy Scout master.

He is survived by James Klemanski, of Coal Township, who was like a son to him, as well as several cousins.

KOSAKOWSKI — Thomas L. Kosakowski, 88, formerly of 170 E. Dewart St., Shamokin. Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Mother Cabrini Church, 214 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, with a Franciscan friar as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Trevorton. At the request of the deceased, there will not be a viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mother Cabrini Church, 214 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin 17872. C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J.
