PAXINOS - Timothy William "Tim" McAndrew Sr., 77, of Paxinos, tragically passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, while doing what he loved - driving his tri-axle - on Route 54, in Rush Township. Tim was a legend in his field known for his appreciation of vehicle horsepower and the immaculate condition of his equipment. He set the bar high for excellence and attention to detail. His legacy of hard work, dedication and unwavering standards will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tim was born Oct. 10, 1947, to William Joseph McAndrew and Winifred Helen (Koehler) McAndrew, in Parsippany, New Jersey.
He was a graduate of Parsippany High School, New Jersey, Class of '66.
After high school, Tim entered the workforce, quickly proving himself as a determined businessman. In 1968, he became the owner and operator of TW McAndrew Trucking LLC, where he built a successful and well-respected business over the course of 57 years.
Tim married his best friend and the love of his life, Eve Ann (Rodman) McAndrew, June 9, 1989. Over the past 35 years, they built a life filled with laughter, weekend road trips and boating adventures to Lake Raystown. Together, they created memories that will be cherished forever by family and friends.
Trucking wasn't just Tim's career, it was his passion. Known for keeping his trucks spotless - you'd be hard-pressed to find a cleaner, shinier big rig than his. He was always found willing to lend a hand to any friend with truck troubles. Tim took pride in every mile he drove. His garage was his sanctuary - filled with the hum of engines or other projects, the smell of grease and a rotation of projects, especially his cherished '56 Chevy.
Tim had a soft spot for dogs, often loving them more than most people. Above all, he was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren, who knew him as being the best storyteller. He leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter and greased-stained memories. His stories will be told for years to come, his wisdom will continue to guide those he left behind and his spirit will live on forever.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Eve A. McAndrew; his children, Melissa McAndrew, of Shamokin, Timothy McAndrew Jr., of Paxinos, and Michelle Greene, of Shamokin; his stepchildren, Keith Smink, of Shamokin, Kyle Smink (wife Carolyn), of York; grandchildren, Kelsey Mejia (wife Taylor), Kayla and Ashley Holman, Gabrielle Greene, and Logan and Cameron Smink; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, John McAndrew (wife Vickie), of Vero Beach, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Winifred McAndrew; and a daughter, Meghan McAndrew.
