Wayne B. Becker

1953 - 2021

SHAMOKIN - Wayne B. Becker, 68, of Shamokin, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, in Danville.

He was born in Shamokin, Dec. 1, 1953, a son of the late Malcolm and Elizabeth (Ruskie) Becker.

He graduated from Southern Columbia Area High School and the Columbia-Montour Area Vocational Technical School, in 1971.

Wayne was married March 10, 1973, at the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church to the former Carol J. Williams, who survives.

He became a union sheet metal worker with the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, Local 44, in August 1978, and remained with them until his retirement in October 2012.

He enjoyed his retirement, fly fishing and spending time with his family and pets.

Wayne liked joking around with people, he never took life too seriously and he was always willing to help anyone. He is now at peace with his savior, Jesus.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Carol; two daughters, Anngalee and Shannon, both of Shamokin; a sister, Joan Roush, of Buckhorn; a brother, Malcolm, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mae Becker; and brothers, Carl and Lynn Becker.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
