Charles Harper Obituary
Stuarts Draft - We are saddened at this time to say goodbye to our loved one - but we are assured that he is at home in heaven. Charles Edward Harper, 74, of Stuarts Draft, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday evening, June 5, 2018.
He was born on September 4, 1943 in Waynesboro, a son of the late John William and Virginia Rankin Harper. His brothers, John William Jr. and David Harper also preceded him in death.
He was a member of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church and was retired from DuPont with 40 years service. Charles loved spending time with his family and playing golf.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sandra Coffey Harper; two daughters, Jill Hatter (Benny) and Amy Harper; one sister, Kathryn Glover (James); and six grandchildren, Benjamin Jr. and Austin Hatter, Hannah, Samuel, Wesley, and Michael Wolff.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Stuarts Draft Baptist Church by Dr. William Kopp and Rev. Grant Simmons. Burial will follow in Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at SD Baptist Church from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Many expressions of love and kindness have been shown to our family these last few weeks. Our family would like to say thank you for your compassion and care, especially Hospice of the Shenandoah.
