Dearest Judy and family. It was heartbreaking to hear of the passing of our dear friend and classmate. Gregory was a good and faithful servant that loved and served the lord all his life. Growing up on the canal bank with some of us Creekers, riding the school bus to and from school every morning, he was a quiet and shy and a most talented and respected guy.  His dad (Preacher Smith as we called him) was a baptist minister as is his brother and son. Good christian family always helping and doing for others.  Gregory was a man of faith and he showed his faith. If he could help somebody, whether in word or in deed, he would. Gregory had a beautiful smile, kind and gentle giant. He had a voice he used to serve and praise the lord. I loved to hear him sing and play the guitar singing the good old southern gospel hymns we grew up singing in church choir. He was so kind and had a most gentle way about him.  His smile reflected his kindness and goodness.  His soulmate Judy, is a beautiful and kind christian lady.  From the moment Gregory introduced her to me we became immediate friends. Their oldest son Jesse and our youngest son Darren were best friends in kindergarten and first grade until Gregory took a job in northern Virginia and he relocated the family to northern Virginia. We always looked forward to class reunions to catch up on old times.  These are "Special memories" I will hold in my heart forever. I have much love and respect for this beautiful family. Gregory will always hold a special place in my heart as "forever friends."  Rest In Peace dear Gregory, until we meet again on that beautiful shore when God calls "my name" I will answer the´s not goodby but "see you later."  Rest in Peace...God be with you Judy and family.
